Boots Tips
This is the time of the year when women get the chance to revive their romance with one of the most fussy yet most arresting of all footwear known to (men and) women—the boots. This annual comeback is spurned both by the fall and winter fashion collections straight off the New York and Paris runways and by the practical demands for warmth and over-all feet protection. Because this particular item never fails to waltz right back to the shops every year, designers have met the challenge with as much tenacity, creating variations to revolutionize the good old traditional pair. With all colors, sizes and shapes of the shoe gracing the department store racks, how do you know which pair to wear?
Despite its attention-grabbing qualities, keep in mind that this pair is primarily a functional part of your get-up. In general, the best choice of material is the most durable against cold and wet weather- the ever trusty and reliable leather. Most are lined with wool or some other velvet-like material on the inside to keep the feet warm.
Avoid wearing half-calf length boots. Anyone who has worn this length would agree that the irregular design is uncomfortable to the calves. Go for the shin-length boots or the one that hugs the calf or at least reaches four inches below the knee. The style of the heel should be the same as the heels of your most comfortable pair.
Wear pointed toes with flared pants and round or flat toes with straight-cut trousers and long skirts. Any style looks great with shorter skirts and slim jeans.
Last but most importantly, make sure you wear the right size.
